English Policy

Highlands International School maintains a high standard in education. It is our goal to have all EFL students not more than two grades below grade level. Therefore, the student’s progress will be monitored throughout the year, and parents will be informed as to the progress being made.

Elementary (Pk - 5th Grade)
There is not generally a language proficiency requirement.

Middle School (6th - 8th Grade)
Potential students should score no lower than Intermediate Low on the Reading portion of the IPT English Proficiency Test for their grade level.

High School (9th - 12th Grade)
Potential students should score at least Intermediate Low on an informal Oral skills assessment and Intermediate High on the Reading skills portion of the IPT.
